Could These Three, Shortest Player Being 6'8, Take The Wizards To New Heights?

Before we get into the next upcoming draft for the Wizards, let's reflect on the #2 selection and his output in the few months he’s been in the league. Alexandre Sarr, the 7-foot power forward, has continued to prove the narrative that was set on him prior to the draft, stating he will be a lengthy defensive presence, especially around the rim, but will struggle with offensive efficiency and playmaking with the ball. However, in the last 10 games, Sarr has scored 10+ points in every single game, averaging 13.5 PPG in that span. On the season he is averaging 11.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.8 blocks. Through his first 8 games, Sarr had 20 blocks, which made him the 2nd fastest teenager in NBA history to record 20 career blocks, which was more than Wemby, Anthony Davis, and Dwight Howard through 8 games. Could Sarr be accompanied with a 6'9 Blue Devil?

The Wizards stand as the last-place team in the Eastern Conference and the 2nd-to-last place team in the entire league with a 6-25 record. At this rate the Wizards will have one of, if not the best, chances of winning the first overall pick in the Draft Lottery come June. With this comes Cooper Flagg. So eager to get into the league, he moved up a class to be able to compete at the collegiate level this year at Duke. Flagg has shown the ability to create downhill advantages with his speed, size, and explosion, even if his ball control and dribble counters still need improvement. As great as he is on offense, he might be an even better defender. Flagg's on-ball defense has been stellar at Duke with his switches and lateral movement speed. He has the strength to handle bigs and has the agility to switch onto guards. Overall, I see Cooper Flagg as the clear-cut #1 overall pick in the upcoming draft.

With Bilal Coulibaly, who I can go on and on about, Washington could have 3 monuments representing the District on the court. It’s about time we bring hoop culture back to D.C. This season we might have to already wave the white flag, but with the #1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft, the Washington Wizards select Cooper Flagg.
